    Jon Gertner is the author of The Idea Factory: Bell Labs and the Great Age of American Innovation, which was published in 2013. A frequent contributor to The New York Times Magazine and a range of other publications, Mr. Gertner writes about climate change, technology, and innovation, exploring relationships between science, history, economics, and social progress. His next book, The Ice at the End of the World, is out in Spring 2019; the book explores the past, present, and future of Greenland—“the world’s biggest laboratory.” Born and bred in New Jersey, Jon currently lives with his wife and two children in Maplewood.
