There are four different types of Fire Safety Permits that can be issued for a variety of different reasons. Some of the common reasons Fire Safety Permit include the following:
- Bonfires
- Tents (900 square foot or more, or 30 feet or more in any dimension)
- Torch Roofing / Tar Kettle Roofing
- Fireworks
- Pesticide fogging
- Use of specific non-residential occupancies for overnight stays
- Use of flames or flame producing devices with public gathering
- Use of flames or flame producing devices for training non-fire service personnel
- Welding or cutting operations
- Possession or use of explosives or blasting agents
- Use of any multipurpose room (occupancy of more than 100) for amusement, entertainment or mercantile type purposes
All activities noted above require a fire safety permit.
